Puffco Peak vs Peak Pro: Which One Actually Makes Sense for You
Both are top-tier e-rigs, both give you great dabs without a torch. The difference isn’t cosmetic: it’s specific features you either pay for or go without.
Temperature control: the biggest difference
The regular Peak has 4 preset heat settings and works right out of the box, no app, no phone pairing. The Peak Pro connects to the Puffco Connect app and lets you dial in any temperature with saved profiles. If you like fine-tuning each session to a specific concentrate, this is the feature worth paying extra for.
Chamber: more room in the Pro
The New Peak uses the 3D Chamber, while the Peak Pro uses the 3DXL, which Puffco calls its largest and most efficient chamber to date. In practice: more material per load, fewer refills on longer sessions or when dabbing with friends.
Heat-up time and charging
Puffco lists about 20 seconds of heat-up time for the Peak Pro 3DXL and does not publish one for the New Peak. Smoke Cartel puts it at around 25 seconds, so the difference is small. On the other hand, the Pro supports wireless charging and works with the Power Dock, while the regular Peak is stuck with a USB-C cable only. On a full charge, Puffco promises about 40 dabs for the Pro and up to 35 for the New Peak.
Which one to get
Want something that just works, no app to learn and no paying for features you might not use? The Puffco New Peak does exactly what people buy an e-rig for, and does it well.
Care about precision, a bigger chamber, and charging convenience, and the budget allows for it? The Puffco New Peak Pro 3D XL Chamber is the kind of device where the extra cost genuinely shows up in every session. And if you want something with more character, we also carry the limited-edition Puffco New Peak Pro – Daybreak.
Whichever version you go with, it’s worth thinking about extra glass right away: the Phoenix Star Straight Dry Attachment is a popular pick for both models.
